Koll Nets American Collegiate 10k Record - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Iowa State three-time All-American Lisa Koll raced to the American Collegiate 10,000-meter record Friday night, winning the race at the Stanford Invitational in 32:11.13.  The Fort Dodge, Iowa native's mark broke the previous record of 32:19.97 set by Alicia Craig of Stanford in 2004.  The collegiate record is 31:56.72 by Kenya's Sally Kipyego for Texas Tech in 2007. Cyclone Grace Kemmey was 15th in a personal best and NCAA Championship qualifying 33:59.70.

"Unbelievable," Iowa State head track coach Corey Ihmels said. "We set out to run 78-second laps with the goal of running 32:30.  But with 10 laps left (Koll) looked at me and we said 'lets go.' She passed (Blake Russell/Reebok) and was still impatient and ran around (Magdlena Lewy) Boulet.
